The authors each have over a decade of practical web development work for a wide variety of international clients. We have also over a decade of experience teaching web development to college, university, and adult continuing education students.

Randy Connolly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Mount Royal University. He is the author of Core ASP.NET Internet Application Development with ASP.NET 2.0 (Prentice Hall, 2007). This book has been translated into Polish and Chinese. He has published four academic papers on the teaching of web development (in 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2011). He is also the lead consultant for eTheoria Technology Group, and has over 14 years of experience developing web sites for international clients, as well as over 25 years of corporate software development experience.

Ricardo Hoar is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at Mount Royal University. He research interests include transportation modelling including a sophisticated web‐based map‐driven public transit system. His industry experience includes systems administration and programming for start-ups, security commissions and universities. His ongoing consulting business (Surje) has created numerous iPad and iPhone applications and continues to design, deploy and administer many web sites and web apps for clients from across Canada.
